The End

OIA - - our favorite place yet....and the last of them.  So far we have been taking it very easy.  We wake late, head to the pool for a few hours, have lunch, nap, head to the pool for a few hours, have dinner and then play some very competitive games of Gin Rummy 500.  We are lucky enough to have a market right next to us for basic essentials and the greek food has been very good.  Still we are looking forward to a couple of chili - cheese burritos over at taco bell when we get home.

Speaking of home, this will be our last blog until we see all of you in person in just a few days.  We are heading out now to charter a boat to a few of the other islands and then hop a bus to see more of this one.  Other than that we'll be taking it easy and dreaming of home cooking.  See all of you soon (too soon).

The Port

We actually walked all the way down a lot of scary stairs to see what we down here.

Wow

Views of OIA

On one of our daily walks we often come across interesting little sites like this.

FOOD!!!

Right after arriving in OIA we were starving.  Across the street was a restauraunt so we walked on over.  To our astonishment we had the best meal in a week and a half, and at the best price.  Note to others wanting to travel to europe, bring lots of money.  Considering the decreasing value of the dollar and the over pricing by the europeans we've been paying about $60 - $70 per meal.  Thats quite a bit when you consider we've been ordering greek salads, a dinner, and two coca-cola lights.  The other night we got two scoops of ice-cream, an espresso, and two coca-cola lights and we spent $40.  Here though we were able to get excellent food, a lot of it, and great service for half of all the other costs.  Also Santorini is well known for its fried food.  So far Ryan has become the king of the "Fried Balls".  He's had them made with Tomato, Zuchini, and Octopus.

OIA!

Ok...finaly figured out how to get some pictures from sunny OIA (pronounced IA) to you in Illinois. This is our balcony right outside of our hotel. It is one of the greatest views we've found on the island so far.  We really got lucky with our hotel pick.  Every morning we open our windows and door and this is what we see.

Here in the Sun!!!!!!

Hello!

Sorry but we have no pictures for you today.  We apologize for the time delay but we've been working really hard at laying out by the pool here in Santorini.  Right now we are surfing the web at an Internet Cafe.  Ryan didn't bring the camera with but we'll be back tomorrow to download some photos and let you know what has been going on so far.  Thanks also to all the people who have left comments.  We love reading them!!! - - - probably more than you think.
